Press Release Regarding Ohio’s 2025 Abortion Numbers
Regarding the newly released Ohio Department of Health’s 2025 Ohio Abortion Statistics Report.
Columbus, OH ––– According to numbers recently released by the Ohio Department of Health, 25,135 abortions were reported for 2025. Ohio residents made up 19,892 of these abortions. This is a 15% increase from a total of 21,829 reported abortions in 2024 (with Ohio residents making up 18,696 of those abortions). At End Abortion Ohio, we mourn these precious image-bearers of God whose lives were unjustly taken, and we renew our commitment to provide equal justice to the preborn through the passage of HB 370.
It is no wonder that this increase in preborn child murder comes after the passage of The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety initiative that purported to establish a constitutional right to abortion.
The Republican Party has largely accepted the legitimacy of abortion as a constitutional right, and ceded defeat. Both Republican and pro-life leadership in the state bear blame as they have failed, despite majorities in both the Ohio house and the senate, to meaningfully work towards abolishing abortion. Instead, they continue to put forward regulatory and incremental measures that fail to give justice. HB 370 was introduced in the Ohio House in June of 2025 and has sat in committee since September. There is no issue in the state more urgent than equal protection for the preborn. We call upon the Ohio House Judiciary Committee to hold sponsor and public testimony hearings, and to pass HB 370 through committee.
The fact that 59% of these abortions were non-surgical abortions underscores the importance of criminalizing the act of abortion, and not a particular method.
Since our inception in 2023 we have lobbied to introduce and pass a bill of equal protection despite resistance, opposition, and apathy from elected officials, and major pro-life organizations in the state, such as CCV, OH RTL, and RTLACO. Since then, over sixty thousand preborn babies have been murdered. This election season, End Abortion Ohio is dedicated to raising up and supporting candidates that will demand equal protection for the preborn and opposing Republicans who will not.
Our state continues to presume on the patience of God, and fill up its cup of blood guilt. God will not be mocked. Our plea to Ohio is a plea of repentance.
